Long considered the poor cousin of Hyundai, itself a budget automaker, Kia has been following Hyundai's steps in recent years to upgrade its image and product line. No doubt, the Kia Optima is a now a beautiful midsize sedan, priced right and offering many of the amenities today's car buying consumers desire.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Kia Mystique</div><div style="text-align: justify;">Along with the Optima, Kia sells other popular models including its line of Forte compact models, the youthful Soul and its Sorento crossover. Next up is the <b><i><u><a href="http://carjuminten.blogspot.com/">Kia Cadenza</a></u></i></b>, a large car powered by four and six cylinder engines. It won't fill the bill of what traditional large car buyers want and that is a V-8 engine which leaves open the possibility that an even larger and more luxurious sedan may follow.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Rumors that Kia would follow Hyundai in offering a top of the line model have surfaced in recent months following Hyundai's successful launch of its Equus line beginning in late 2010. Prior to that, Hyundai had introduced the Genesis coupe and sedan, the latter proving to be a strong competitor to the BMW 5 Series and Mercedes E-Class, but priced lower than a Cadillac CTS.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Though some have theorized mixing luxury with Hyundai would be a worthless effort, sales have proven otherwise. Consumers have shown that they're ready to embrace all things Hyundai, a brand now known for delivering rock solid quality, excellent value, state of the art styling and offering the best warranty in the business.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Kia will have to overcome similar obstacles to bringing a luxury or premium full size sedan to the market, along with some other factors too including:</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">High gas prices - As of this publication, $4 per gallon for gasoline is a challenge for drivers. Still, when it comes to full size luxury, the V-8 rules. If the big Kia delivers 25 miles to the gallon it may have a shot. Then again, at that price would drivers prefer an Audi or a Cadillac?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Stiff competition - A big Kia must be priced to get the attention of drivers who might otherwise purchase a Buick Lucerne or who had previously shopped for a Mercury Grand Marquis. The former model is aged and soon to be discontinued; the latter model ceased production in 2010. Can Kia grab these car owners before others step in?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Residual values - Hyundai new car values are holding up better than ever, but can the same be said of Kia? That's something hard to quantify with a vehicle that isn't even sold yet. If Kia prices its big sedan smartly, then it may attract buyers who won't worry about sharply falling car values a few years down the road.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">Hyundai competition - The Kia Optima is a formidable competitor to the outstanding Hyundai Sonata, but hasn't siphoned sales from Hyundai yet. With a full size sedan, that could change if the Kia model goes after the same customers. The luxury market is profitable, but it is also a fairly small market too.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjFUyXegFXpedCizJ5OsaPzLNTG36Ov_Ab0fGn4EDOVpUa60XJTCYnp-FBtrzZFT9w0DOIQhUIrm4TfoDJRaXBcO6L2a17nmh_PC1Nf6DnZ5-YCPR2OFcWYkFtW-9vI2KZy_UbsCv9h8dRS/s1600/21-2014-kia-cadenza.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; Since HMMWV is quite of a hassle to pronounce, the soldiers began to call their vehicles Humvee's. When AM General began to produce similar cars for the civilian market, they used the name Hummer. Today, Hummer is a protected name owned by General Motors. AM General sold the name to General Motors in 1999, but continued to manufacture the Hummer, while General Motors became responsible for selling the vehicles on the market.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The military M998 High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicles were developed to replace jeeps and lighter trucks. As early as the 1970's, the jeeps and lighter trucks had begun to show signs of inadequacy during military missions in rough terrain and a new and improved type of vehicle was much sought after. In 1979, the U.S. Military lay out the requirements for a High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, and in 1980 the first prototype was finished. The prototype was called M998 and had been produced by AM General. The U.S. Military liked the prototype and AM General begun to produce a series of different High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle prototypes. Eventually, the U.S. Military ordered 55,000 HMMWV's from AM General. Today, you will find more than 15 different types of Humvees' in the United States armed forces. They are used a cargo carriers, troop carriers, ambulances, automatic weapons platforms, missile carriers, surface-to-air missile platforms and much more. Fording 0.762 meters is possible with a standard Humvee, and with a deep-water fording kit you can ford up to 1.5 meters.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: justify;">The first civilian High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle, the Hummer, entered the market in 1991 and soon grew immensely popular. It was initially promoted by a race in 1990 where two Hummers traversed the rough terrain between London, UK and Beijing, China. A majority of the trip took place on the coarse roads of central Soviet Union. The drive was broadcasted in the United States, and the Hummer received a lot of publicity before even being launched. One of the first civilian owners of a Hummer was Arnold Schwarzenegger, which naturally also gave the vehicle additional publicity. What made the Humvee's really famous was however the 1991 Operation: Desert Storm in the Middle East. During this war, soldiers driving the various Humvee's were frequently seen on the news in America.</div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjArDUo0Nkfhf0ZOF4Pk5zP4ETdjfR089cqBxchN6GW1jbXXkjTR73paIvULGa0sLspQue089fJZ_G7HLu3V3Njz4Nq_oqNFpmjgpQpSJ8qXahr96QQoXKAuvCMnXf3YWn0FIIdH3dG_DPk/s1600/2007-GeigerCars-Hummer-GT-SA-OD-1024x768.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em;
